As a HUGE Jane Austen fan, this felt like stepping into the pages of a regency novel! You have a way of setting a scene and making it feel so immersive and real. I find myself hanging on every word. You really can write anything! I loved how you juxtaposed the quick burning passion against the calm, steady embers. One leaves you with third-degree burns and the other keeps the hearth warm through the coldest of nights. LOVED as always!!
Comparing my writing to a Regency novel is the absolute highest compliment, oh my goodness! 😭 Jane Austen would probably judge our chaotic modern dating choices, but I'll take it lol. Thank you so much for reading and for such a stunning review! 🤍✨
What a creative way of exploring two very different experiences of closeness, Marga! I love the way your two poems mirror one another - the same longing for intimacy taking on such a different quality when it is met with steadiness and safety rather than uncertainty. Beautifully done!🤍
Wow, you articulated that better than I did. 😅 It was definitely an exercise in contrasting the adrenaline of the unknown with the relief of someone actually staying. Thanks for always stopping by! 💓
Right?! Realizing that love doesn't have to feel like a panic attack is such a game-changer. Really appreciate you stopping by to read and share that! 🫶🏻
'for the first time in years, she knew exactly what she was worth'. - Perhaps unrelated to the poems, or perhaps connected to each cup differently. If this line is personal in nature, I wonder what awareness was gained to reach such a conclusion.. Thank you Marga for sharing.
Thank you, Steve! That line is definitely the heart of the whole piece. While Freya's story is entirely made up, I think that specific realization is something a lot of us have to fight for, learning that peace feels a lot better than the high-stakes chaos. Really appreciate you reading so closely! 🩶
Oh I love the contrast between Delirium Wine and Warm Elixir 🥹 The idea of comparing the two relationships to something that poisons you versus something that steadies and nourishes you is so beautiful. And that final line about knowing exactly what she was worth really brings the whole thing together. ❤️

Beautifully written.. :)
Moving on from someone who makes you feel like you're drowning to someone who is just calm and steady is the ultimate growth.

It was relatable.. If nothing else, I try to be attentive to those I subscribe to.
Why thank you, I’m honored! 🥰 Truly means the world to have someone as attentive as you following along 🫶🏻
Brilliant as always Marga. This was such a treat!

These are so beautiful. “You are the lump that settles in my chest” will stay with me ♥️
That line came straight from the heart, so it means the absolute world to hear it stayed with you, Amber! 😋🫶🏻

Oh I love how the story at the end ties both the poems together! Such a wonderful idea
"...wasted on your ghost throughout the night" - absolutely stunning. Loved this ❤️
