"We do not have to pick between the parts of us that break and the parts that heal." Love this! It's so hard not to want everything to be neat and linear but life rarely is. We are all (to some extent) walking contradictions and a kaleidoscope is such an ingenious analogy. It really does depend on what parts of us catch the light... such a beautiful insightful piece :)
“Walking contradictions" is such a true way to put it! 🤍 Thank you for embracing that messy, beautiful, non-linear path with me. Love that the kaleidoscope metaphor stuck with you! ✨
God, this was such a beautiful read. 🥹🧡🤌 The kaleidoscope metaphor is so lovely because contradictions aren't flaws; they're just different pieces catching the light at different moments, right!. i think we spend so much of our lives trying to resolve every contradiction within ourselves that we forget they can coexist, and maybe that's what makes us perfectly imperfect humans. Maybe we're allowed to crave solitude and still want to be known, to trust the universe and still carry a lantern just in case. :) This is soo beautifully written, Marga! Absolutely loveedd it <333
Oh, "carry a lantern just in case" ~ I love that phrase so much! 💓 You put it into words so perfectly. We really spend so much energy trying to smooth out our edges when the shifting, contrasting pieces are what make us us. Thank you for reading so deeply and for this gorgeous reflection! 🫶🏻
yet only listening to the noise inside her own mind.' This hits close to home. At the peak of my anxiety this was one of the loneliest feelings ever. But on the other hand, it's also an unbelievably strong tool one can possess. Everything in this piece resonates. Just shared this with my little sister as well.
Whew, peak anxiety in a loud room is such a specific kind of lonely. Thank you for seeing yourself in those words, and please give your sister a warm hug from me for reading along! ✨
I hate how society tries to force this rigid timeline on us, like we need everything figured out or stabilized by a certain age. It’s suffocating. But that frustration is pretty much what sparked this whole piece. - Yeah. It's disconcerning. I find it difficult to remember what it was like decades ago. Things were different then. I suppose. Yet, I'm 51 now and still have no idea what I'm doing. Like a butterfly fluttering around aimlessly.
Wow, being a butterfly fluttering around is a lovely way to put it. It's strangely comforting to know we never really have to be at a final version of ourselves. Knowing that the figuring-out never really stops makes me feel a little lighter about it all. Thank you for sharing such a comforting piece of your journey with me, Steve! 🦋✨
"Trusting the universe, yet keeping her own lantern lit just in case" - I loved this. Thank you for sharing 😊
I’m glad you love that line! That means so much to me. Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a kind thought! 🤍

I was told I was fluttering around as an insult.. Wasn't an insult though. We are forever changing and evolving.
