I love how you flip the script near the end: refusing to hand over rights that were never earned in the first place. That takes guts when you've spent a lifetime being told you're the difficult one. The contrast between mistresses getting his time and you getting cold rejection says everything about how twisted the whole situation was. Naming it plainly like you did feels like real power. Poems like this do more good than people realise: somewhere someone reading it will feel a little less alone in carrying the same kind of bruises. Well done.
Thank you for such a thoughtful response, Mikey. It’s hard to write about those kinds of 'bruises,' but knowing that it might help someone else feel less alone makes the vulnerability worth it. I really appreciate you saying that! 🥹🫶🏻
Fantastic! I'm incredibly glad I could help you feel better. These things are hugely rough on us even at the best of times. Well done for soldiering on through nonetheless.
Wow, I had such a visceral reaction to this. So raw, so gorgeously written. This hit so close to home. I'm so sorry for all the pain you have felt, please know that you are not alone :) Beautifully done as always!
I am so sorry for the pain that you endured. Your writing made me feel the raw pain, despair and stunted anger. I wish life is dearer to you going forward and that you get to experience the safety and comfort of being cared for.
What’s the point of reading if not to be thoughtful, isn’t it? We come hear to be seen, to be heard and unfortunately it is just another social media platform to most extent
I had to sit for a moment to process this heart shattering and beautifully vulnerable poem. It's so powerful Marga. Pain, the wounds, scars and the strength to choose yourself come together; all can be.
Thank you for sharing this deeply personal piece ♡

Psychologists need to figure what it is with dads and demanding love from kids they were never present for.
Right?! Like, make it make sense.
Darling, your poetry is so deep, heart-moving, and beautiful.
"You carved that damage into bone." is a line that made my chest tighten.
Your writing is the world; you deserve the world.
McKenna 🥹 That’s incredibly kind of you to say. Thank you for seeing my heart in my writing 🤎

Wow, thank you, Anne! It’s a bit scary to share these things, so it means the world that you felt it. 🤎
I can imagine it is scary.. and I really hope you're proud of yourself 🩷
I love this so much!
Oh, thank you, EK! 🥹🤎
Ok wow, this is so evocative. The wording was so simple and that reinforced the whole idea of the poem. I love this
Aww. Thank you! 🥹 I really wanted to keep the language stripped back to let the meaning shine through, so I’m so glad that came across 🫶🏻
This hurts to read. As is the intention. I felt every word and every painful moment.
It was difficult to write, but I'm glad the emotion reached you. Thank you for being here, Steve! 🥺🫶🏻
I wish no one had to go through this pain, and I’m sorry you had to go through it. Some bridges are meant to burn. Sending you tons of love 🤍
Thank you for such a sweet and validating comment. It's been a journey, but your support makes it feel a little less lonely. 🥹🩵
